Buying sunglasses online is easy. Buying good sunglasses online takes a few checks. Here is what to look at before you pay, wherever you shop.
1. UV protection first
Sunglasses should block ultraviolet light. Look for UV400 or 100% UV protection on the product page. A dark tint does not prove it, and a dark lens without UV protection can let your pupils widen and let more UV in. Read polarized versus UV-protected sunglasses and how to choose durable sunglasses.
2. Fit and size
A sunglass that slips, pinches or leaves gaps at the sides protects less and annoys more. Check the size numbers (such as 52-18-145) against a pair that fits you. See our frame size guide, and use the face shape finder to find a shape that suits you.
3. Lens type
- UV protection is the essential feature.
- Polarized lenses cut glare from water, roads and glass. They are a bonus, not a substitute.
- Prescription tints let you wear your power in the sun. See prescription and progressive sunglasses.
4. Who is selling?
Check that the shop shows a real address and a way to reach a person, clear product details and a policy for a wrong or damaged pair. EYVRO is the online brand of Deepak Optical in Aligarh, and you can message us before you order.
5. The price, in context
Lower is not always better and higher is not always better. See frames under ₹2,000 for a live budget list, and how to pay less without buying bad lenses.
