Children's Privacy
How EYVRO handles the details of children under 18, and why a parent or guardian must consent.
Who this is for
This site is for adults. Children often need glasses, so a parent or legal guardian can place an order, send a prescription or book a home trial for a child under 18. We do not take a child's details from the child.
Parent or guardian consent
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, a child is anyone under 18, and a parent or legal guardian must consent before a child's personal data is used.
When you tick the consent box on one of our forms, you confirm that you are 18 or older, or that you are the child's parent or legal guardian and you give that consent. If you are not, please do not submit the form. Ask a parent or guardian to do it, or contact us.
What we collect for a child
Only what is needed to make and deliver the glasses:
- The child's name, so the order and prescription are correct
- The child's prescription, which is health information and is treated as set out in our Prescription Policy
- A delivery address and a phone number or email. Please give the parent's or guardian's, not the child's
What we do not do
We do not use a child's details for marketing or advertising, and we do not sell them. Marketing email is for adults, or for a parent or guardian, and the sign-up box asks you to confirm that.
Withdrawing consent and deleting a child's data
A parent or guardian can ask us what we hold about a child, ask us to correct it, withdraw consent, or ask us to delete it. Get in touch through our contact page and we will action it. Some records, invoices, for instance, we may have to keep for tax purposes.
If you think a child has given us details without a parent's or guardian's consent, tell us and we will delete them.
