How to Buy Reading Glasses Online in India: Prescription vs Ready-Made

Ordering reading glasses online is easy. Ordering good ones takes a few checks. This guide explains the two kinds you will find, what you need to order, how the process works at EYVRO (the online brand of Deepak Optical, Aligarh) and what to confirm before you pay.

Two kinds of reading glasses online

Ready-madeMade to your prescription
PowerSame in both lensesOne value per eye
Centred to your eyesNot usuallyYes, using your PD
Best forA spare in a drawerDaily reading and work
Lens optionsFixedCoatings, progressive, tint

Most people do not have identical power in both eyes, so a ready-made pair can be a poor match. A made-to-order pair costs more, but it is made for you.

What you need to order

No prescription? An optometrist can test you first, and we cannot work out your reading power for you.

How ordering works at EYVRO

  1. Browse reading glasses, or filter for men or women.
  2. Choose your lens and enter your ADD at checkout. You can upload the slip, type the numbers in, or send it afterwards.
  3. The lenses are cut and fitted to your numbers at the Deepak Optical bench in Aligarh.
  4. The pair ships across India. Delivery is a flat ₹100, and Aligarh customers can choose store pickup.

What it costs

The total is the frame price on the product page plus the lens, per pair:

  • Hard Coat Lens: ₹250. Clear prescription lenses with a scratch-resistant hard coat.
  • Blue Cut Lens: ₹350. Blocks harmful blue light from screens.
  • Magnus Lens: ₹600. Premium clarity & impact resistance.
  • Crizal Lens: ₹1,800. Ultimate anti-reflective, scratch-resistant & smudge-proof.

Progressive and bifocal lenses are listed with their prices on the lens prices page. Strong powers and high-index lenses are priced for your prescription, so send us the slip and we will quote it. See what prescription glasses cost.

Checklist before you pay

  1. Is the lens named and priced, not just called "premium"?
  2. Will they check your prescription with you before cutting lenses?
  3. Is the frame size listed on the page?
  4. Is the total shown before you confirm, including delivery?
  5. Is there a real shop and a clear answer to "what if it is wrong?" See what to check before approving a spectacle order.

Frequently Asked Questions

01Can I buy prescription reading glasses online?

Yes. Pick a frame, choose your lens and enter your ADD power at checkout. You can upload your prescription, type it in or send it afterwards. The lenses are cut and fitted to your numbers at our Aligarh bench before the pair ships across India.

02What do I need to order reading glasses online?

A current prescription with the ADD value, and your PD if it is on the slip. If it is not, message us and we will walk you through it. If you have no prescription, an optometrist can test you first.

03Are ready-made reading glasses a good idea?

They are a stopgap. A ready-made pair has the same power in both lenses, which is not true of most people, and it is not centred to your eyes. For regular use, a pair made to your own prescription is usually the better choice.

04How much do online reading glasses cost?

The price is the frame price on the product page plus the lens you choose. At EYVRO a hard coat lens is ₹250, blue cut ₹350, Magnus ₹600 and Crizal ₹1,800, per pair. Progressive and bifocal lenses have their own prices on the lenses page. High-power lenses are priced for your prescription.

05Is it safe to buy glasses online?

It is safe when the seller makes the lenses to your prescription, shows the total before you pay, and has a real shop and a clear process for problems. Check those three things before you order.
